We're all guilty of it, spending money that we haven't got, impulse buying, over indulgence. Reeled in by the TV adverts & the media, showcasing products that you 'should' have. Its all false and there for one purpose only, to make you want to buy it. When in reality why buy something that you can't afford? Its only you that is going to be affected by it, when you find yourself without money sat on the brand new sofa unable to leave the house, with no lights or TV on through fear of being unable to afford the electricity bill!

- Sleep on it- when thinking about buying something, sleep on it first! Lots of spending is carried out on impulse, ask yourself do you really need it?
- Start a new hobby - Boredom is usually the key to spending, walking or volunteering can keep you occupied and away from those shops!
- Leave your credit card / debit cards at home. When away from home, at work avoid the temptation to spend by leaving these cards at home. Take what you need, such as packed lunch etc
- Be Efficient and Recycle If you need to replace something in the home, such as curtains, sofas, kitchenware etc visit websites such as Freecycle, Ebay, Gumtree. You can also get rid of any unwanted items..
